Description

This tutorial will teach you how to create a water color effect on any photo of your choosing

Objectives

  • Learn how to use filters to create a realistic water color effect

Sometimes we need to convert normal images to painted ones. This tutorial helps you to achive that goal.

Open any file of your choice.

We will now apply dry brush effect in the image. For that go to filter>artistic>dry brush. Give the values as shown in the figure.

Image after applying dry brush effect.

Press control+f to repeat the last filter. Here it is dry brush.

You will notice that our image is turning to a water color painted image. Now go to filter>stylize>diffuse and apply these settings.

Go to filter>blur> smart blur and apply these values.

Our final output. Compare the original and final image.
