I just started looking through OpenACircle found at OpenACircle.com and I have to say it looks like an incredible Meeting Web Application, perfect for small businesses or even designers like us! Especially if it’s free! The features look extremely promising, let me just break down what is available, and ways that you could use this service in your own business or life.
First of all you can create a Private Collaboration Circle e.g. you can create your own small team of professionals to meet and engage with on your projects. With this team you assemble you can also:
* Share your Desktop! – Sometimes trying to say something just doesn’t get the message across. You’ve heard the saying “A Picture says a thousand words” Well sharing your desktop would be like “Saying 5,000 words or more!” I’m sure you can see the usefulness of this, especially for us designers showing our clients different mockups of their websites or designs very quickly and getting immediate feedback. We could even change the design while they are watching and see what they have to say.
* Video Conferencing – This sounds pretty cool, you can see the person you are talking to in a video and they can see you! Excellent communication options are available there. Quick open communication options, definitally a plus!
* File Storage and Sharing – Do you have a file that you want your whole team to have? Well just share it! Everyone will have access to it and you also have a built in backup of your files.
* Scheduling – Sometimes it’s difficult to schedule a meeting! Well no more, with the built in Scheduling Calendar you can quickly set appointments and create meeting times that everyone can agree on.
* Dashboard Feed – Completely see what all is going on with your team and any updates!.
