Reading provides numerous benefits and one of it is keeping you informed of several things that might new to you or not at all. Whatever genre of literature you are reading, an autobiography, fiction and more, one thing is in common and that is you get the privilege to experience what other people tried or done in their life. However, some books are just worth remembering and so most people keep them forever, they might change their residency but those books will never be left out. There are also books that will lift your spirit and make you happy for a while. There are also books that are worth a second look, these books are the ones you shouldn’t miss reading. Here are some of the books that is worth a second look.

The book written by Rubin Hurricane Carter entitled The Sixteenth Round.

The author of this book was actually a boxer. During his time, discrimination is widespread, people are so engross with the societal view on skin coloration. The first incident wherein he was put to jail was when he protected his friend, there were also minor crimes that he committed which puts him in and out of jail, eventually he made a career out of the society that he was exposed to. If you want to survive, you need to fight back. Things didn’t stay chaotic in his entire life as a matter of fact some things starts going in the right way until she met the woman that became his wife. However, there was one event that was every unfortunate in his life; he was convicted for a crime that took place after a night out. He was allegedly identified as one of the gunmen involve in a horrible robbery.

As for the description, it was only said that the criminal has a black man who ride in a nice car. During this time the book entitled The Sixteenth Round was written in order to prove him innocent of the case. But wait, there is more as to why you should take a second read of it. There was even a film adaptation of his life that was released 15 years ago. For quite some time a boy was able to read the book that he had written. This is the first literary piece that he has read in his life.

The boy was so inspired with Rubin’s book and so he decided to write to him. Along the way he was able to convince his family to help Rubin’s family and fight for his freedom. He was then released because the police force were held liable for corruption and dishonesty in their service. Books can somehow change the course of your life moreover if you are able to watch the film you’ll feel empathy and other emotions.
